Environmental
Services
Environmental Services trains young adults to protect and maintain the urban environment in and around San Diego County through conservation and preservation projects. Corpsmembers are able to experience and learn about San Diego’s natural environment, including identification of native flora and fauna and how to remove invasive non-native plants.
While on the job, young adults learn to identify native and non-native species and how to remove invasive plants. Corpsmembers work to clean San Diego’s waterways, restore riparian ecosystems, build trails, control erosion by means of BMPs (Best Management Practices), construct crib steps, and restore the habitat of canyons, parks, and wetlands.
